Videos and photos below of the process
I drew a new work and decided I wanted to use both watercolors and acrylics for the piece. However, I haven’t worked with watercolors consistently in years and never on a canvas wrapped canvas. So, I began practicing with watercolor pencils on canvases before I begin my larger creation. Here is my practice work of a previous sketch entitled, “Ladies of Liberty.”
“Ladies of Liberty” watercolor.
I created a sketch of Natalie in 2018. She then took my sketch and drew it onto a canvas. I began painting Natalies likenss from the sketch at the end of last summer. Finally, this year I was able to return my attention to the painting of Natalie having completed Christmas commissions. Here is the process and the completed work. If you would like a painting created with metallics fill in the contact form at the end of this page and I will respond within 24 hours.
I’ve been working on dimensional portraits using acrylics. I have tweaked, tweaked and tweaked this one over again and still didn’t do justice to Michael.
