Nubian Series

Nubian Series

The pandemic had many of us working from home more many of us expanded our minds, bottoms (❁´◡`❁) and skills. I began doodling on my iPad more and saw a woman in one of those doodles.  I found myself creating many women and men in regal robes and intricate designs.  I decided to call this series, “Nubian.”  Nubians are a member of one of the group of dark-skinned peoples that formed a powerful empire between Egypt and Ethiopia from the 6th to the 14th centuries.

I have now created many Nubian sketches on my iPad, then used my laser cutter to score the designs into wood panels.  A couple of the creations have been recreated into larger canvas works and both are sold.

These two have SOLD

My goal for 2022 is to complete the Nubian line and create from them a coloring book and to also be sold as watercolor paint kits.      Here are 3 of the 11″x14″ completed works.

And here is fraction of those that are yet to be painted.  These are only a few.  These works take considerably longer time to complete due to the tiny intricacy of their robes and some backgrounds.  Many of them have animals and insects drawn into the garments.  Another goal for 2022 is to keep this art blog updated. 🤞🏾   Once the pieces are complete you will be able to purchase items such as phone cases, mugs, shower curtains and much more with your choice of art on them.  Click on the link to go to my Fine Art America page.
